The new LEON BISTRO, which has opened on Main Street, is a place where Chicoans and visitors can enjoy delicious food in a relaxing and gracious atmosphere. The restaurant is warm, elegant and spacious, and the service is attentive and professional. The entrees include hearty steaks and chops, fresh fish perfectly cooked, chicken and a wide assortment of well-prepared and seasoned vegetables and fruits. The food reflects the extensive experience and palette of its chef, Ann Leon, who in the last twenty years has pleased diners in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Chico area with distinctive and tasty food.

LEON BISTRO is the latest fine dining restaurant to operate at 817 Main Street and some may remember when the building housed Jedidiah’s or JP’s, both excellent restaurants that successfully offered their fare at this location. Now with LEON BISTRO, the neighborhood gains a restaurant that emphasizes California-bistro cuisine—familiar foods prepared with skill and verve, and incorporating interesting tastes of other cultures and cuisines.

Some of the specialties on the menu are:

  • Crab cakes served with avocado cream and spicy mango coulis.

  • Sliced Portabello mushroom fritters served with a lemon aioli and fresh herb vinaigrette.

  • Bacon-wrapped filet mignon served with buttermilk garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables and a wild mushroom demi-glace.

  • Roasted halibut served with marinated French green lentils, seared greens, baby carrots, and a mango/sweet 100 tomato salsa.

  • Parmesan chicken: A chicken breast encrusted with panko and parmesan, served with buttermilk garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables and a lemon buerre blanc.

  • Asian chicken salad made with cabbage, carrots, red Bell peppers, avocado, sesame seeds, cucumber and candied almonds, and topped with grilled chicken and Asian vinaigrette.

  • Burger Leon ½ Ib. Black Angus beef, grilled onions, crispy-fried cheddar slice, lettuce, tomato, pickle & BBQ sauce.

We also server Sierra Nevada and other beers on tap, and a fine selection of California wines.
