The Art at Leon Bistro

Since Leon Bistro opened in 2008, Ann Leon and Susan Leon Peterson have decorated the walls with works on paper and sculpture by their dad, Dennis Leon, as well as other artists who were close family friends. These works are part of the family's collection and are for sale.

Dennis was the Chairman of the Sculpture Department of the California College of the Arts in San Francisco and Oakland for 20 years, and counted among his exceptional students: Squeak Carnwath, well-known painter who taught for many years at UC Davis and UC Berkeley; Robert Herhusky, an Art Instructor at CSU, Chico; and David Gentry, Art Instructor at Shasta College.

Leon's work is included in art collections around the US including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The DeYoung Museum, the Crocker Gallery in Sacramento, the Oliver Ranch Foundation in Geyserville, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., and the Storm King Art Center in New York. He passed away in 1998.
